See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Originally a 15th century as a coaching inn with its own brewery and stable, following a fire in the 17th century it was rebuilt and re-named as The Phoenix. It has an open plan layout with dining area to one side and an open fire. Good-value pub grub plus specials served lunchtimes Monday to Friday, breakfast menu and traditional Sunday lunch. There are picnic tables outside on what was the car park but there are two public car parks nearby plus on street parking.
